Rainy Lake Gold Mines

Rainy Lake Gold Mines

Within a couple of miles of Island View Lodge are several abandoned gold mines from the turn of the century. They can only be reached by water. The Little American Mine is just around the corner from IVL. Voyageurs National Park has built a dock and a self guided walkway with plaques that explain and show what the mine was like. The Bushy Head mine can be seen from the lake.
